Pickleball was invented here in 1965 by Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum. The Founders Courts at Battle Point Park (8 dedicated outdoor courts, completed 2020) are the sport's pilgrimage site, and the annual Founders Tournament every August honors the game's origin.
