Memphis’s pickleball community has a uniquely strong church-based network, which fills in for the smaller public outdoor scene. Christ Church Memphis (3 indoor, Mon-Thu mornings, free), Germantown United Methodist Church ($2-5 drop-in across the week), Hope Presbyterian Church (Mon/Wed 9am-12pm, free), First Evangelical Church (Thursday evenings, free), Church of Christ at White Station (Wed/Fri 9am-12pm with adjacent coffee house), Balmoral Baptist, Covenant UMC, and St. Luke’s UMC all run free or low-cost indoor pickleball programs. Riverdale Park has 3 free outdoor courts (BYO net, no lights), and the new Tom Lee Park on the Mississippi River will add 2-4 free pop-up pickleball courts on a 23,000 sq ft multipurpose riverfront sports court (pending USA Pickleball approval) - a signature future venue.
