Pickleball in Naples.

Pickleball Capital of the World · Florida

Naples is the spiritual home of pickleball. East Naples Community Park hosts the US Open every April with 55,000 fans and 3,700 players, and the city's 60+ public dedicated courts there are open the other 51 weeks a year for $5 a day.

Indoor season
Year-round, peaks May through October

Naples plays outdoor 12 months a year, but the calendar splits hard. November through April is high season: comfortable temperatures all day, every court at peak capacity, and the US Open packs the city for a week in April. May through October is the off-season for visitors but still busy for locals, with most play shifting to 7am to 10am or after 5pm to avoid heat indexes that routinely exceed 100°F by mid-morning. Afternoon thunderstorms are a near-daily occurrence in summer. Hurricane season runs June through November.

If you only do one thing in Naples, go to East Naples Community Park. Sixty-plus dedicated lighted courts make it the largest single-site pickleball facility in the world, and the operating entity, the USOP National Pickleball Center, runs organized morning play across every skill level for $5 a day. The park hosts the US Open every April, but the other 51 weeks of the year it’s an open public facility where 300 to 400 people play daily in winter season. Veterans Community Park in North Naples adds another 14 dedicated lighted courts, and Fleischmann Park near downtown rounds out the city-run trio with 6 more.

Indoor play is thin by Naples standards because outdoor weather is good most of the year, but it gets important in summer when heat indexes exceed 100°F and afternoon storms close outdoor courts daily. The Greater Naples YMCA is the main public indoor option with 4 reservation-based courts in the gym. Beyond that, indoor play in Naples mostly happens inside gated community clubs (Pelican Bay, Fiddler’s Creek, Esplanade, Vineyards, and similar), which are residents-only and not listed here. Pickleball Republic-style commercial dedicated indoor clubs haven’t landed in Naples yet.

The US Open is the defining event on the calendar. The 2026 tournament celebrated the 10th anniversary with 3,750 players and 55,000 fans, and the 2027 edition is already locked for April 17-24. Spectator entry to amateur and pro matches across 59 courts is free; only the Zing Zang Championship Court matches require tickets, and those go via an annual lottery. If you’re planning a winter trip to Naples and like watching pickleball, time it with the US Open.
